The department of mechanical engineering, being one of the largest and oldest departments of this institute, provide to its students with class tutorial and state-of-the-art laboratories. The Mechanical engineering Department is a double storied building with 9000 Sq.ft. area having class rooms, staff rooms and fully equipped laboratories.
The department is continuously motivating to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry oriented research as well as consultancy work with services to the society. The Fluid Mechanics Block and The Work Shops are one of the best equipped laboratories in the region having large number of Lathe Machines.
The Dept. has the tradition of best performance in the University exams and majority of the students have passed with Distinction. The department has a good tradition of result since inception. Department is continuously insisting students for participation in various technical events such as paper presentation & Poster presentation and Robot competition.
Department has a established MESA(Mechanical Engineering Students Association), which provides a big platforms to students to develop their character thorough conducting various program by which learn and improve their managerial and teamwork skills.
Students of the department have also being performing good in all sports events and have bagged all round championship.
It is my pleasure to introduce Department of Mechanical Engineering where we aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences. For developing our student as a ready engineer for Industry department has team of 12 experienced and devotional teaching staff members and 5 Supporting non teaching staff.
Various activities such as Expert talk, training, are continuously going on in the department for student’s academic enhancement. Department is taking collaborative efforts with TPO cell for student placement and it is very proud to announce the 100% placement of the 2019-20 batch.
Department has made MOU with industries and top institution to feel the gap and provides live experience and industry culture to our students.
The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering degree program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and offers Choice Based Credit System education.
The program aims to equip students with professional skills for successful career in mechanical and allied industries. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the prime departments at STBCET which accommodates Central Workshop, Innovation Incubation & Research Center (IIRC), and ten departmental laboratories.

Since its establishment in the year 1983, Department of Mechanical Engineering has skilled thousands of undergraduate and from 2013 postgraduate students for successful career in the various sectors of global economy. Students are groomed with interdisciplinary approach towards Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation and Industry 4.0 in addition to the core fields of studies in Thermal, Manufacturing and Design Engineering. The program integrates value based education through National Service Scheme (NSS) and volunteering services keeping societal challenges in mind.
Department offers courses in emerging areas and cutting-edge technologies like Robotics and Industrial Automation, Additive Manufacturing, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence etc. Academic delivery of these courses is exercised by experienced faculty with application orientation. Innovative learning initiatives such as Problem Based Learning, Project Based Learning and Activity Based Learning in addition to traditional classroom model are equipping students with problem solving skills to explore career opportunities in various industrial sectors.

1. Able to apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and design concept in solving complex engineering problems of product design, thermal engineering and manufacturing systems.
2. Able to apply their knowledge in the field of engineering mechanics, thermal and fluid sciences to solve engineering problems utilizing advanced tools and technologies.
3.Able to learn managerial skills to work effectively in a team and develop the leadership qualities.
